It will take place at Piedmont Community Center, 711 Highland Ave. Santa Claus will be available for photos after the tree is lit at 7:15 p.m. Cookies and candy canes will be distributed by the Boy Scouts of Piedmont Council; apple cider will be provided by Piedmont Grocery. Mayor Margaret Fujioka will be on hand to greet guests who will be treated to Christmas carols by the Troubadours of Piedmont High. The event is hosted by Piedmont Beautification Foundation. St. Joseph’s Basilica at 1109 Chestnut St. in Alameda will host a 7:30 p.m. concert Dec. 6. Old First Church at 1751 Sacramento St. in San Francisco will hold a 4 p.m. concert Dec. 7.
