One of the options is moving Berkeley Technology Academy, an alternative high school, from its home on Derby Street to the adult school on San Pablo Avenue. In that option, a new elementary school would be created at the vacated technology academy, also known as B-Tech. “Bringing B-Tech over here is obviously a worry, but that’s not the whole thing,” said Jamie Day, one of 16 neighbors near the adult school who signed a letter to district officials warning of “negative impacts for the neighborhood” if that particular proposal is adopted.
