The 16-year-old junior at Leigh High School has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Adept at many things, from sports to playing the flute in the symphonic and marching bands when she was at Dartmouth Middle School to dancing around a stage on her toes or bare feet, her personality shines through her shy smile. “My dream is to open a dance studio to teach people of all ages. The studio I go to, Capitol Dance Company, has dancers of all ages. There’s even a woman in her 60s that comes. That’s what I want to do, teach people of all ages. I don’t want a career in dance; dancers have a short career, and some have already started at 14,” Katherine says.
