Jeff Frishof, Golden Gate HOG director, presented a $1,000 check to Glynis Carreira, the medical center’s volunteer coordinator, along with a separate $100 check donated by one of the HOG members. During the last 25 years, the Harley Owners Group has donated more than 20,000 toys and more than $15,000 to the medical center. In turn, Frishof received a proclamation from the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in behalf of the Golden Gate Chapter Harley Owners Group, which was honored for its 25 years of generosity to the children of San Mateo County.

“Santa on a Harley leading a pack of riders delivering gifts is always a ballet art, pointe shoes, art print, pencil drawing, black and white art, dance teacher gift, dance gifts, ballet wall art, danc thrill for patients, visitors, and staff,” said Glynis Carreira, the medical center’s volunteer coordinator, in a written statement, “Every year, the riders astound us with their generosity — not only at the holidays, but throughout the year.” Sponsored by 100-year-old Dudley Perkins Harley Davidson, the annual Holiday Toy Run begins at the company located in South San Francisco before the cyclists rumble down Interstate 280 to the medical center..

This event is a long tradition for the Golden Gate HOG Chapter, beginning with the former San Mateo HOG Chapter, which merged into the Golden Gate HOG Chapter four years ago. The Chapter also stages other rides throughout the year and donates cash, food, and clothing to other charitable organizations within San Mateo County. The Golden Gate Chapter is chartered by the Harley Owners Group, a division of Harley Davidson Motor Co. in Milwaukee, Wisc., which has a worldwide membership of more than one million members.
