With music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charmin and book by Thomas Meehan, “Annie Jr.” is based on “Little Orphan Annie” (by permission of Tribune Media Services, Inc.), and is a specially edited, shorter version of the Broadway musical “Annie.” This SSPA event is directed by Raul Avina, choreographed by Brianna Anthony, costumed by Sharon Martinez and Adriana Martinez, and lit (lighting designer) by Carson Duper. Diana Lee is the musical director and scenic design is by Raul Avina and Paul Kwapy. From beginning to end, director Avina’s production is a marvel.

Serena Sargent plays Annie and she is a charmer, immediately making the audience root for her and when she sings “Tomorrow” to lost dog Sandy (played by the heroically talented Jazzy) — the audience, clearly touched, collectively sighed before bursting into applause, Caitlin Cummings as Miss Hannigan, the orphanage supervisor who clearly hates children, is a riot, delivering her lines with great comic timing and she can also really sing, Henry Lie as Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks 1990s minimalist cap toe laceup mary janes, pumps, etienne aigner ballet flats, oxford shoes, laceup shoes, laceup flats 90s min is a stage and comic natural as he commands with a lot of huff-and-puff and overall goofball kindliness..

Avery Northrop as Daddy Warbucks’ private secretary Grace Farrell is elegant and smart and she has a lovely voice. Jackson Fiske gives a performance that is pure joy as the delightfully despicable, completely self-assured Rooster Hannigan. Maddie Sutton as Lily St. Regis is brilliant. She can sing, she can dance and she can play a comically rotten character. When Caitlin Cummings, Jackson Fiske and Maddie Sutton deliver the song “Easy Street” it is a showstopper. Ronan Brosnan gives a gem of a performance as F.D.R. and Bert Healy and this young man can tap dance.

Every actor, dancer and singer in Avina’s production 1990s minimalist cap toe laceup mary janes, pumps, etienne aigner ballet flats, oxford shoes, laceup shoes, laceup flats 90s min gives their all to make one grandly engaging “Annie Jr.” Several actors — Ali Squillace as Mrs, Greer, Blaise Winterhalter as Mr, Bundles, Simone DiPirro as Molly and Ella Sisser as Duffy — may be in small roles, but they’ve got that something that lights up a stage, Also Maddie Sutton, Emily Lund and Isabelle Watson are fabulous as The Boylan Sisters, The staging, the costumes, the dancing, the ensemble singing and the talented group of “orphans” that bring the house down each and every number — all do their part to make an already great show even better, This is another SSPA production that will leave you singing..
